Photography is an art closest to reality. Camera creates art in almost the same instant when reality is creating that situation. So being a photojournalist means being CONSTANTLY aware of surroundings as a mysterious intensity, of people as lost children, of animals, birds and trees as humans, of tragedies and joys as repetitions but with different characters…
Masses imitate each other. That creates selfish stereotypes of beauty and relations. Only ‘my’ child, ‘my’ pet, ‘my’ breath is beautiful?
By photos…by see-ing I try to undo stereotypes of looking at the world. Everything’s beautiful. Everything’s related. A good photo shows that. A good photo turns chaos into a family. A stranger into a soul.
May be art means to yearn to see through the repetitions of beauty!
The more I wander for a picture, the more I see new things. I realize and accept this ‘new’ through my picture. For me this medium is realization of what is real in this world and how I want the world to be around me. And the dreams I don’t understand, I search them too in the world through my camera. I’m not an artist but my passion for this medium of expression has led me to capture moments which has resulted in what others say as “artistic picture”. For me they are documentation of my growth.
‘Picture’ can’t be explained. It is the ‘picture’ that speaks. I seek, I realize, I capture and a ‘picture is created. For the viewer, the same process reverses - You watch, you realize, you seek.
The camera often brings me to that parapet of reality where a feather-like dive into magic is just at hand. (Maybe a little is already in the breath). Here's what came into my hands or rather I should say 'my lens'. These are not the photographs which speak a thousand words. They've lived up to their motive if they continue to speak each of the thousand times you look at them. Even if all you 'hear' is a round silence, a gap in time, a dash of color, a speeding horn.....
Maybe it won't single-handedly change human being or society. But,there must be something to what's born of sincere conviction. I do believe any work of art out of conviction cannot be but good.
